About us
This site is dedicated to scientific community working on ALS. Our aim is to optimize researchers time and efforts by providing updated, well organized information on novel findings, available resources and research support.
AriSLA - The Foundation for research on ALS - has been set up to make ALS research investments more effective and efficient, to speed up the clinical research impact e and to provide patients with better care, improved conditions and life expectancy. Its aim is to boost Italian excellencies in basic, clinical and technological research. The Foundation founders are Fondazione Cariplo, Fondazione Telethon, Fondazione Vialli and Mauro and AISLA.



The 2015 AriSLA Ice Bucket Call for Assistive Technology Projects is now closed

The second Call for Projects 2015 on ALS research, the Ice Bucket Call for Assistive Technology Projects, closed on September 15th.


The Call aims to support the development of new tools and assistive technology services with high impact on ALS patients Quality of Life. For this reason, the proposals were presented by innovative startup with social purpose or by partnerships composed by non-profit or profit entities: the active involvement of Clinical Centers with experience in ALS patients care and the contribution of patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals will be crucial to validate the effectiveness and usability of proposed tools.

21 projects have been submitted from all over the Country, 11 are oriented to the motricity field and 10 are related to the communication.

The total economic value of the submitted proposals proposed is around 5 million Euros.

Currently the projects are being evaluated through an accurate process of peer review: the projects deemed worthy of funding by the experts of the AriSLA International Scientific Committee will be announced by the end of the year.
